Ten issues have been identified and agreed to with five specific task forces established to progress major issues identified by the association. These task forces are chaired and resourced by each of the five state associations. |

Agreed Issue 1. National Central Point of Contact and Communication Portal. |
||||||||||||||||||||
|
Objective: To develop an integrated efficient communication process to ensure all sectors of the Landscape community (industry, consumer, government) are aware of the National Industry peak body's marketing direction and development strategies. |

Agreed Issue 2. Government Lobbying and Liaison. |
||||||||||||||||||||
|
Objective: To provide the appropriate support mechanisms to assist positive policy changes across all levels of government to assist growth and sustainability of the landscape industry throughout Australia. |

Agreed Issue 3. Environmental Management (Water/Natural resources). |
||||||||||||||||||||
|
Objective: to investigate and recommend the appropriate development strategies to ensure the landscape industry sector is at the forefront in strategic development of policies and procedures for the efficient and profitable growth of the industry and maximisation of available natural resources. |

Agreed Issue 4. Career Path Development-Education and Training- Professional Development. |

Objective: To develop appropriate strategies and provide useful information and support to the various training authorities on the needs of the Australian landscape industry that will assist in the identification of future skills availability and career path direction. |

Agreed Issue 5. Export Development. |

Objective: To develop an export culture that will allow global growth of the Australian landscape industry. |

Agreed Issue 6. Certification/CPD, Accreditation/Licensing. |
||||||||||||||||||||
|
Objective: To develop a nationally portable process of 'Landscape Licensing (both hard and soft)', 'Individual Certification' and 'Continuous Professional Development' schemes along with 'Company Industry Accreditation' programs for the landscape industry that complements other programs within Lifestyle Horticulture and the building and construction industry. |

Objective: to develop a range of strategies across all sectors of the Lifestyle Horticulture and building and construction industry to ensure industry/government/consumer awareness of the activities of the Australian Landscape Industry Association. |

Agreed Issue 8. National Conferences and Study Tour Development. |

|
Objective: To investigate, recommend and develop biannual national conferences and appropriate international/national study tours to benefit the landscape industry. |

|
Objective: To provide the appropriate forum for the investigation and development of integrated world's best practice product and service innovation and research and development schemes to suit the landscape industry in Australia. |

Objective: To ensure ongoing financial sustainability for the National Industry peak body to allow it to achieve its strategic Objectives for the benefit of the landscape industry in Australia by identifying the correct stakeholders and processes. |

Taskforce 1.Marketing/Awareness/Promotion. |
||||||||||||||||||||
|
Objective: To develop effective and timely marketing and promotional activities that will ensure the professional growth and consumer awareness of the Australian Landscape Industry both domestically and internationally. |

|
Taskforce 2. Environment Management (water/natural resources). |
||||||||||||||||||||
|
Objective: To ensure that the Australian Landscape Industry is correctly positioned to engage and support the many environmentally active government departments at all levels and related associations on issues of importance to the landscape industry. |

Taskforce 3. Certification/Accreditation/Licensing. |
||||||||||||||||||||
|
Objective: To correctly position the Australian Landscape Industry to undertake and deliver a nationally portable and regulated appropriate individual Certification, company Accreditation and contractor continuous professional development processes that will support legislated licensing within the Australian Landscape Industry and related sectors. |

Taskforce 4. Education and Career Path Development |

Objective: To Investigate and develop the appropriate contacts and strategies to ensure the Australian Landscape Industry is correctly positioned to attract the appropriate potential employees through the development of world competitive skills development, career path's and nationally portable education and training programmes within the Lifestyle Horticulture apprenticeships, traineeships, diplomas and degrees. |

Objective: Identify and engage the appropriate R&D organisations to undertake agreed innovation, research and development programs for products and services that will benefit the long-term sustainability of the Landscape Industry in Australia. |
