National Landscape Industry Conference and Excellence Awards 2009

The National Landscape Industry Industry Conference was held in conjunction with the National Awaards appropriately titled "Our Changing Lifestyles" due to the current focus on climate change, our environment and water use efficiency in our much valued open green space.
Delegates were impressed by the conference content and the diverse set of landscape related topics presented by enthusiastic, well credentialed, world-class national and international speakers.
Topics included: Carbon in Landscaping and Garden Design; Value of a Garden for a Sustainable Future; A case study on the "Beyond Today" project promoting environmental landscaping objectives in a residential development; and the keynote speaker David Stevens from the United Kingdom a winner of 11 gold medals at the Chelsea Flow Show and author of 21 books, presented "A Lifetime in Landscape"
The Australian Landscape Industry Excellence Awards six categories and winners were:
- Residential Landscape Construction under $100K - Creative Outdoor Solutions, Victoria
- Residential Landscape Construction over $100K - Jonathan Landscape Design and Construction, Tasmania
- Commercial Landscape Construction under $250K - City Landscapes, Victoria
- Commercial Landscape Construction over $250K - JA Dodd, Victoria
- Landscape Maintenance - Winstanley Landscapes, Victoria
- Environmental Awards - Tim Davies Landscaping, Western Australia
